Subject: Audio problems...

Most full movies I download come with VBR audio, and I have the habit of changing it to CBR@128 kbps. Well, I got this really awesome movie which came with the scenes split (5), but when I tried to play them (WMP) I could only hear two of the scenes and the remaining three were muted. I tried other players with the same result, and at the end I found that only classic WMP player was able play all the scenes with their audios.

I loaded the scenes to VirtualDub and got this message for the troubled ones:

Truncated or invalid compressed audio format detected (16 bytes, should be 18)

Next I tried to save the WAV for all five scenes and succeed, but when I tried to save the scenes with the new recompressed audio I got this message for the three scenes with problems:

No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format. (source format tag: 2000)

I also applied the AVInfo utility and for the OK scenes it tells me the audio is MP3, but for the scenes with problems it says that audio is of unknown WAV format. So, any suggestions?

What else were you expecting?
